Meet the Picard lab!

Colette L. Picard

Principal Investigator

I’m an assistant professor in the Cell & Systems Biology at the University of Toronto. I have an interdisciplinary comp bio/statistics and biology background. I did my PhD in Mary Gehring’s lab at MIT, followed by a postdoc in Steve Jacobsen’s lab at UCLA. My PhD and postdoctoral work focused on dissecting the epigenetic regulatory mechanisms that ensure correct expression patterns and genomic integrity during germline and seed development, primarily in Arabidopsis and C. elegans. I opened my lab at UofT in January 2025, where I continue to study the genetic and epigenetic factors regulating germline and seed development.
